FREQUENT-C-FLYERS
May
12, 2008 Get your airplanes or helicopters out gentlemen;
the new field is ready for flying. If you haven’t seen our new airfield at 106 Read
Road it’s time to take a look. The field is longer, with both ends
open (no hills or trees but possibly corn by August) and enough area to
fly over for even the biggest planes. And unless you were up to the field
on Sunday you haven’t seen the improvements made over the weekend.
The driveway to the field has been put in (still needs to have some shale
put on it) and the field has been improved by taking off the high spots
and filling in the low ones. It still needs some work but some of us
have been flying off it before the improvements so I feel it’s ready to
go. Plans have been drawn for a 12’ X 16’ shelter to
house the mower on site as well as shade, wind and rain protection if
needed. Some material has been donated and all the construction will
be done by members as we are trying to hold down cost. And that brings me to the point of this letter.
So far we have spent about $500.00 on field improvements. The
materials for the shed have been priced out at about $400.00. If each member would donate at least $40.00 we will
be able to purchase the materials for the shed and get it up before the
end of June. I am sure that the shade will be appreciated in July
and August. Please send a check to: Frequent-C-Flyers
